MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Measure height at home

A consistent measuring setup is more useful than an expensive purchase chosen without checking the space it needs.

Prepare the measuring spot

CDC advises firm flooring, a flat wall without molding, shoes off and a straight-ahead gaze. Use a rigid book or ruler square to the wall, then measure from the floor to the mark with a metal tape. Read the complete CDC instructions before measuring.

Keep the record useful

Write the date, value and unit together. A value such as 120 without cm or inches is easy to misread later. Use the existing HeightCalc journal for a local record, or print a blank log below.

Choose a tool around your space

Use the equipment finder to compare mounting style and published measurement ranges. A decorative wall chart and a properly installed measuring instrument serve different purposes. A measurement alone cannot explain a child's growth.
